Marina Rodríguez Brià was born in Sant Vicenç de Castellet (Barcelona) and studied at the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música of Barcelona, at the Conservatoire National de Musique, Danse et Art Dramatique of Perpignan (France) and also at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and she has a degree in Music and French Philology. She has continued her studies with different international courses and she has been awarded many prizes in piano, chamber music and poetry contests.
She has performed at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin State Opera), the concert hall Laeiszhalle of Hamburg, The Sage auditorium of Gateshead, L’Auditori of Barcelona, the Opera of Stuttgart, Teatros del Canal of Madrid, Palau de la Música of Barcelona and Valencia, the Aalto Opera of Essen, Casa da Musica of Oporto, Gran Rex Theatre of Buenos Aires, Teatro Colón of Bogotá and at the international festivals of Grafenegg (Austria) and Ludwigsburg (Germany), among others.
She has recorded for diferents radio and television stations of Spain, France, Italy and Germany. She has published more than ten albums with works of Russian composers, two monographic albums of Muzio Clementi, Romantic dances for piano duet, Spanish music for piano solo, a monographic album of Albéniz, among others.
She is currently carrying out a detailed study of Muzio Clementi and has recorded an album performed on a Clementi & Company pianoforte (Clementi on a Clementi & Co square piano, Ultramarina Creations, 2015).
Rodríguez Brià has given the course “A Musical Journey with Clementi” at the University of Barcelona within the framework of “Gaudir UB” (“Enjoying UB”) 2016. She has also coordinated the courses “England Around a Piano. Music, Art and Society. The shift from the 18th to the 19th century through the multifaceted musician Muzio Clementi” and “Travels, Music and the Scene between the 18th and 19th Centuries. From enlightenment thinking to the emotiveness of the individual. The musician Muzio Clementi as a model of the change of mentality” at the summer courses “Els Juliols” at the same university.
She has given the lecture “Clementi, musician and manufacturer” at the Music Museum of Barcelona.
In 2017, she has been invited to the 6th Annual Meeting of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America, playing in the opening concert and giving the lecture-recital “Fernando Sor in London. His Relationship with the London Piano School” with works by F. Sor and Clementi.
Finally, in addition to her work in music and performing arts, this versatile artist expresses herself through writing and painting, which she combines in different performances.
